Quick take

Zendesk targets large CX teams with dedicated departments. Joely is built for 1-5 person FiveM crews selling on Tebex: Cfx.re sign-in instead of email registration, Tebex purchase verification on every ticket, Discord DM notifications, and a free plan that already covers a solo creator.

Why Joely is the better alternative

The three reasons that drive the rest of the comparison.

Native to FiveM and RedM

Cfx.re OAuth is the customer's existing identity. No new account, no email verification, no learning curve for buyers.

Tebex first-party

Purchase verification, coupons, and gift cards live inside the ticket - not in a third-party integration you maintain yourself.

Indie pricing

Free plan with full Tebex sync. Plus at 9€/mo, Team at 22€/mo flat for unlimited members. Not per-agent.

Built for FiveM creators, not large CX teams

Zendesk targets large customer experience teams with dedicated CX departments. Triggers, SLAs, escalation matrices, and routing rules are the bread and butter. That generality is also why it isn't the right fit for a FiveM creator selling ESX or QBCore scripts on Tebex.

Zendesk has no concept of Cfx.re identities, no native Tebex integration, no Discord-first communication channel, and no FiveM-specific defaults. Every customer has to create a Zendesk account, verify their email, and learn a new system. For a community where Discord and Cfx.re are the identity layer, that friction is fatal.

Joely is the opposite: every default is tuned to the FiveM and Tebex workflow. Customers sign in with Cfx.re in one click. Tickets are pre-linked to their Tebex purchases. Notifications flow through Discord DMs. The AI understands product names like "ESX Jobs Pack" because you trained it on your own docs.

Tebex integration that ships out of the box

Zendesk has no native Tebex integration. To get purchase context into a Zendesk ticket, you build it yourself: a custom Tebex webhook, a Zendesk Marketplace app, and a sidebar widget. Then you maintain it.

Joely connects to your Tebex store with one form, and from that point on every ticket carries the customer's full purchase history, transaction IDs, products, and dates. You can issue Tebex coupons and gift cards directly from the ticket on Plus and above. You can link Tebex packages to GitHub repos so creating an issue from a ticket attaches the right repository automatically.

AI tuned to your products, not generic

Zendesk's AI add-ons are powerful but generic. They optimize for triage, intent classification, and macro suggestions across any industry.

Joely's AI is trained on your specific documentation, scoped per Tebex package. The AI knows what "ESX Jobs", "QBCore Garage", or "vRP" mean in your context because you fed it your docs - paste URLs, upload server.cfg snippets, or feed it from resolved conversations. It can be set to approval mode (drafts replies for staff review), autonomous mode (sends replies on its own), or vacation mode (24/7 even off-schedule). When the AI is unsure, it falls back to staff with a typing indicator so customers know a human is coming.

A portal that looks like part of your brand

Zendesk Help Center is a customer portal you customize via theme files, branded subdomains (on paid tiers), and CSS overrides. Setup is a multi-day project for a non-IT team.

Joely gives every project a branded portal at {your-slug}.joely.io (or your own domain on Enterprise) out of the box. Customers sign in with Cfx.re - no new account, no email verification, no password reset emails. The portal shows their ticket list, Tebex order history, and the package they need help with. Branding (primary color, neutral color, logo) is configured from the dashboard in two minutes, not via SCSS.

Roles, automations, and pricing model

Zendesk's role model is built for large teams: admins, agents, light agents, end users, and chat agents, each with different seat costs. Triggers and macros are configurable but require a Zendesk admin to set up.

Joely ships 39 granular permissions you compose into custom roles via drag-and-drop. Auto-assign rules route tickets to a staff member or role based on the Tebex package selected (Team plan). Pricing is per-tier, not per-agent - Team at 22€/mo covers unlimited members. A 3-person FiveM crew on Joely Team pays 22€/mo flat; on Zendesk Suite Team ($19/agent/month, billed annually), the same crew is at $684/year before any add-on.

Who should pick what

Pick Joely if

  • You sell paid scripts, packs, or resources on Tebex (FiveM or RedM)
  • You have 1 to 5 people on the support side
  • Your customers find you on Discord and pay through Tebex
  • You want the platform usable in under 10 minutes

Pick Zendesk if

Visit
  • You run a large CX team (20+ agents) with dedicated admins
  • You serve a non-gaming audience with email/SSO sign-in expectations
  • You need omnichannel deep customization (email, voice, chat, SMS) at scale
  • You have a budget for setup and ongoing administration

Switching from Zendesk

Joely doesn't ship a one-click Zendesk importer today, and for most FiveM creators that's fine - your existing Zendesk archive can stay read-only while new tickets move to Joely. The day you switch:

  • Export your current Zendesk tickets as CSV (Zendesk Settings → Account → Export). Keep the archive for compliance.
  • Sign up to Joely and connect your Tebex store
  • Install the Joely Discord bot and share your portal URL ({your-slug}.joely.io)
  • Update any "open a ticket" link in your Tebex product descriptions and Discord welcome message

If you have a complex migration need (high ticket volume, custom Zendesk apps, etc.), get in touch and we'll help you scope it.

Joely is not for

  • FiveM RP server operators selling VIP slots or in-game items directly to players (Joely is built for script creators selling to other devs, not in-game commerce)
  • Sellers outside Tebex (Gumroad, Stripe direct, custom checkout) - the Tebex integration is the moat
  • Teams with 20+ CX agents who actively use Zendesk's omnichannel + admin features
