FiveM and Tebex customer support: when Discord tickets stop being enough
Selling FiveM or RedM scripts on Tebex? Here's when Discord tickets are enough, five signs they no longer are, and how to move to a support portal.
· Kad Darem, RedM developer, founder of Jump On Studios and Joely
For a creator selling FiveM or RedM scripts on Tebex, Discord tickets are enough as long as volume stays low. They become a limit when you have to delete channels, check every purchase by hand or repeat the same answers. At that point, a support portal connected to Tebex and Cfx.re takes over.
I sell my own RedM scripts and I started with Discord tickets, like almost everyone. They're free, your customers are already there, and for a long time they just work.
Are Discord tickets enough for selling FiveM scripts?
Yes, at low volume. If you get a few tickets a week and your setup works for you, change nothing: a ticket bot does the job very well at that scale.
The rest of this post is for the day that changes. Discord is a messaging app, not a support tool, and it shows as soon as tickets pile up.
Five signs your Discord tickets are no longer enough
1. You delete tickets to make room
Most bots open one channel per ticket, and a Discord server is limited to 500 channels, a limit regularly discussed on Discord's support forum. As you get close to that cap, you have to close, archive or delete.
At best, the history ends up in a transcript nobody reopens.
2. You check every Tebex purchase by hand
Transaction ID, screenshot, script name: every ticket starts with a back-and-forth. Your customer waits, and you verify instead of answering.
3. You keep answering the same question
After every release, install and dependency questions come in waves: server.cfg, ensure, ESX or QBCore. The answer already exists, but it's sitting in a channel that closed three weeks ago.
4. The context disappears
A few people open a ticket on the same evening, and everything scrolls away. When a customer comes back a month later, you start from zero: which script, which version, what did we already try?
5. You no longer know who's handling what
As soon as there are several of you, two people answer the same ticket, or nobody does. A Discord channel has no real queue, so you have to keep it all in your head.
If you recognize two or three of these signs, the problem is no longer volume. It's the channel.
Discord tickets or a portal connected to Tebex and Cfx.re?
| Criteria | Discord ticket bot | Joely portal |
|---|---|---|
| Opening a ticket | A channel on your server | A form on your portal, with Cfx.re sign-in |
| Tebex purchase | Requested from the customer, checked by hand | Picked by the customer, already verified |
| Limit | 500 channels per Discord server | No channel cap |
| History | Transcripts or archived channels | Kept and searchable |
| Customer replies | In the channel | On the portal or from the Discord DM |
How do you verify a Tebex purchase when a ticket opens?
The customer signs in with their Cfx.re account, sees their Tebex purchases and picks the one they need help with. The ticket arrives already linked to a verified purchase, and nobody has to ask for a transaction ID.
Cfx.re is a good fit here because your FiveM and RedM customers already have an account: there's no new account to create.
You can also send a direct link to a script and an order, in a purchase email or a README. Joely checks that the order belongs to the signed-in person, and the form opens on the right script.
Will my FiveM customers actually use a portal?
That's the real question, so here's what they actually experience:
- They open the ticket on your portal, with their Cfx.re account.
- They still get notified on Discord. Once they've linked Discord to the portal, every reply reaches them as a DM.
- They can answer from that DM, with the Reply button. Their message lands in the right ticket.
- Files and the full history stay on the portal, so nothing gets lost.
- Your Tebex store doesn't move, and your Discord remains your community.
What surprised me most on my own support was the quality of the tickets. The ones coming through the portal are much better than on Discord: people who open one actually want help, and they actually reply.
"I respond much faster, and in far more detail."

How do you move to a FiveM support portal?
I built Joely for these five problems, because I had them myself. You can try it without breaking anything: the Free plan costs nothing, needs no credit card, and your current bot can keep running alongside it.
- Create your Joely project.
- Connect your Tebex store.
- Share your portal link with your customers.
- See how your next tickets go.
The getting started guide covers each step.
Frequently asked questions
- How do you handle customer support when selling FiveM scripts on Tebex?
- Most FiveM creators start with a Discord ticket bot, which is enough at low volume. As volume grows, a support portal connected to Tebex and Cfx.re removes manual purchase checks and keeps the full history of every ticket.
- How do you verify a Tebex purchase when a ticket opens?
- With Joely, the customer signs in to the portal with their Cfx.re account, sees their Tebex purchases and picks the one they need help with. The ticket arrives already linked to a verified purchase, so nobody has to ask for a transaction ID or a screenshot.
- How many tickets can a Discord server handle?
- A Discord server is limited to 500 channels. Bots that open one channel per ticket share that cap with every other channel on the server, so you have to close, archive or delete tickets to keep opening new ones.
- Can my FiveM customers stay on Discord with a support portal?
- Yes, for the follow-up. The ticket opens on the portal with their Cfx.re account. Customers who have linked Discord then get each reply as a DM and can answer directly with the Reply button. Files and the full history stay on the portal.
- Do I have to replace my Tebex store to use a support portal?
- No. Joely connects to your existing Tebex store to verify purchases. Your store, checkout and FiveM and RedM script delivery stay the same, and your Discord remains the home of your community.
- Does Joely work for RedM?
- Yes. Joely works the same way for FiveM and RedM scripts sold on Tebex, because both games use the same Cfx.re account to sign in to the portal.
